Exercise 3: Working with the 2D views

Starting point

Have completed the exercise 2.

Objective

  • Adjusting the zoom levels of 2D views
  • Changing the image parameters of 2D views

Solution

1. At this moment the slicer window has the 3D view and the three 2D views arranged vertically to the right of the screen. If you look at the 2D views, they are not fully visible in their corresponding window, because they have been zoomed in.

Figure 1: step 1

We will adjust your display to the size of the window. This is done by pressing the third icon on the toolbar of the 2D window to be adjusted. In the ??? is indicated in the yellow window with an orange circle. By clicking on this icon, the size of the image in the window automatically adjusts to its size.

Figure 2: step 1

In the example 1 you can see how this action is executed.

2. Adjusting the representation of the red and green windows by the same procedure

Figure 3: step 2

3. To change the zoom level in the 2D window, right-click and drag vertically: up to decrease and down to zoom in. In example 2 you can see how this action is executed.

4. Perform the same operation, clicking and dragging with the right mouse button but horizontally, and see how the window behaves.

5. To change the brightness of the image, click and drag vertically with the left mouse button: upward decreases (darkens) and downward increases (clarifies). In the example 3 you can see how this action is executed.

6. To change the saturation of the image, click and drag horizontally with the left mouse button: to the left increases and to the right decreases. In the example 4 you can see how this action is executed.

Questions

  • When we modify the brightness/saturation of one 2D window, what about the other two windows?
