Exercise 5: Working with the 3D view
Starting point
Have completed the exercise 3.
Objective
- Adjusting the zoom levels of the 3D view
- Free rotation
- Views established according to RAS axes
Solution
1. To change the zoom level in the 3D window, right-click and drag vertically: up to decrease and down to zoom in. In Figure 1 you can see how this action is executed.
2. To rotate the image represented in the 3D window, click and drag with the left mouse button in any direction. In Figure 2 you can see how this action is executed.
3. If you want to reorient the 3D view to the initial position, or to any of those set by the RAS axes, simply unfold the top menu of the window and select the letter of the axis end to select the orientation (Figure 3). Doing this also resets the size of the representation, adjusting it to the window.
Questions
- What happens if the CTRL key is held down when you freely rotate a 3D view?
What if, when the 3D view is oriented to Posterior P, the orange button in Figure 4 is pressed?
