Data Module
The function of this module is to list the objects present in the current scene and allow generic operations on them (search, rename, delete, move) within the tree of the MRML structure. It shows the objects as they are ordered in the scene and allows to have an overview of it.
The module window has three tabs:
- Subject hierarchy: shows the hierarchy of the different elements (Figure 1)
- Transform hierarchy: shows the different transformations in the scene (Figure 4)
- All nodes: lists the nodes present in the scene
The icon to the left of each element indicates its type, which can be: model, scene view, volume, DICOM data.
Elements
Right-clicking on an element opens the context menu (???) to interact with elements of the scene:
- Create child folder: creates a container folder, dependent on the selected item, where new items can be stored. To move an element simply hold the left mouse button on it and drag it to its new position.
- Clone: Creates a copy of the selected item
- Export to DICOM: to export in DICOM format the selected item, or the entire scene if the corresponding check box is marked at the top of the window. (???)
</ figure>
- Rename: used to rename the selected item
- Delete: deletes the selected item from the scene. Attention: running this command does not open a confirmation menu, so if an accidental click occurs the item is deleted.
- Edit properties: takes us to the <a href="/slicer-int/index.php/Models" title="Models">Models</a> module to modify the options of the element
- Select role: to select the behavior of the element
Folders
Right-clicking on an element opens the context menu (???) to interact with elements of the scene:
<figure id="fig:ModuleDatacontext2">
Only the contextual menu items other than those described in the object context menu are mentioned here.
- Create child folder: create a subfolder
- Show volumes in branch: highlights in the 3D view window the items in the folder
- Convert folder to subject: changes the behavior of the folder within the scene, making it a subject
- Convert folder to study: reverse the previous change, or modify a subject to folder
Transform hierarchy tab
This tab shows the display and coordinate transformations in the scene. Using the contextual menu you can modify, create new and query its properties, which takes you to the module Transforms
