Mauritania September 2017

Visit to the Faculty of Medicine of Nouakchott and its Simulation Center together with work meetings with professors of the University and other public institutions

During this three-day visit, Mr. Juan Ruiz Alzola, Principal Investigator of the MACbioIDi project together with the project manager, Ms. Asmaa Skareb, made different visits and meetings with the beneficiaries of the project in the capital of Mauritania.

The first of the meetings took place with the Director of Relations with Africa in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs where the project was presented and impressions were exchanged for future collaborative initiatives.

On September 19, the MACbioIDi delegation from the University of Las Palmas of Gran Canaria visited the Central Hospital of Nouackhott, where they observed the facilities available and met with representatives of the Spanish Agency for Cooperation, the Delegation of the European Union, the Rector of the University of Nouackhott and the Minister of Health of Mauritania.

Before returning, there was occasion to meet with the Ambassador of Spain in Nouackhott to hold talks, present the actions to be developed during the next months and actively collaborate between both institutions.
