The strategies of smart specialization, which all regions and EU member states have had to implement, were specifically discussed. Two concretions of these policies will be presented, one of them with a perspective of multidisciplinary integration (the application of astrophysical concepts in medical technology) and the second, with a vision of development aid, in particular, the development of inclusive medical technologies activities carried out in the context of the Interreg MACbioIDi project, in which European, African and North-American institutions participate.
