The main objective of this project is the development of an ultrasound (US) simulation prototype based on CT images. Since the project is aimed to obtain simulated data that allow testing algorithms or that could be used for educational purpose. Besides these data, simulated US images come from a CT dataset with better quality that will facilitate the diagnosis. Eventually, this project will be integrated in an extension for Medical Imaging Simulators. En primer lugar, se establecerá su adaptación a diferentes idiomas y se estudiará su funcionalidad para importar/exportar datos a fin de facilitar la comunicación entre esta plataforma y la aplicación 3DSlicer. The 27th NA-MIC Project Week Workshop
Held from January 8 to 12 at MIT Boston (USA), the groups made up of researchers from the MACbioIDi research groups presented their projects at the 27th edition of the NA-MIC (National Alliance for Medical Imaging Computing) workshop.
Projects:
Medical Infrared Imaging with Slicer
This project is a research collaboration between the public research institute IACTEC and the University of Las Palmas de Gran Canarias (ULPGC) in order to use infrared (IR) sensors and advanced image processing technics in 3D Slicer for medical diagnosis, mainly for foot ulcers detection in diabetic patients. Different infrared cameras shall be connected to 3D Slicer using the PLUS toolkit and a new medical thermal infrared extension shall be developed.
