Under the title "The gender perspective in the scientific career", the professors: M ª Asunción Morales Navarro, Juan Luis Navarro Mesa and Juan Ruiz Alzola, doctors by the ULPGC, researchers and professors of the School of Engineering of Telecommunication and electronics ( EITE) have shared a coffee with those attending the event, during which they have exhibited their work and their point of view on the presence, according to gender, of students and professionals in scientific and technological careers.
The subsequent debate has shown data, ideas and discussed perspectives on the possible causes of the low female presence in careers with a marked technological profile.

This initiative is part of the activities held at the Orlando Hernández House Museum in Agüimes, within the weeks of science and innovation in the Canary Islands 2018, an initiative of the Ministry of Economy, Industry, commerce and knowledge, through Of the Canary Islands Agency for Research, Innovation and information society. They have been organized in collaboration with the Temisas Astronomical Observatory Foundation and the Interreg MACbioIDi project.
